It’s easy to let the conversation flow when you’re with a good friend, but it can feel harder and weightier when we sit down to talk to God. The thing is, God doesn’t ask for fancy words or require us to speak at all. He promises that the Holy Spirit will intercede for us when we have no words—so take off the pressure. Sit in silence and just think about God. Or, if one word comes to mind, meditate on that word and think about what it tells you about the Lord. You don’t need fancy words or eloquent monologues. Conversations go in two directions, so make time to listen, too. You never know what you will hear.
