Life can be hard—especially when we’re juggling a lot of things. Like holiday gatherings, planning for big family feasts, checking your bank balance online and wondering when you’ll have time to do all the Christmas shopping you want to do, for example :-).

For me, simply sitting with God in prayer is easy… when things are good. It’s only when life intervenes—as it always does, that prayer becomes difficult, too. Complicated situations, losses, disappointments—they can all leave you wondering…if prayer doesn’t “fix” everything, why bother?

Well, we bother because prayer connects us to God, and time with God changes us and how we see the world. Along the way, we realize that life is worth celebrating. That there is joy and beauty to be found in the people and spaces all around us. And that prayer can be fun.
