What's better than a bed full of teddy bears? (guest post by Becky Kopitzke)
July 14, 2015
Becky Kopitzke is one of those people who makes you smile. You can’t help but like her—her vivacious, generous spirit draws you in from the moment you meet her. Through our shared agent, we connected via email one day and then I discovered she lived near the town in Wisconsin where Anna went to college (seven...
A faith journey: the real beginning (guest post by Bekah Pogue)
July 7, 2015
Bekah Pogue got my attention when she wrote such a wonderful review of Praying Upside Down (always a good way to get me to notice you!). I started reading her blog Upcycled Jane: Embracing Beauty in the Everyday, and found this post. When I stopped crying, I asked for permission to share this one here....
Do it scared (guest post by Laurie Coombs)
June 30, 2015
Laurie Coombs is another one of those lovely souls that I’ve had the honor of “meeting” through shared connections in this business. I am so excited about this book. I think God is in it, through it, around it, behind it, before it—just all over it. His forgiveness is amazing, but sometimes we forget just what...
Those fiery darts (guest post by Debbie Wilson)
June 23, 2015
At some point soon, when things are official, I’ll be telling you about some exciting news regarding what I’m working on right now. But for now, suffice it to say that A) it is exciting news! and B) I am going to be extraordinarily busy the next couple of months. I’ll still post once or...
Are you jaded?
June 19, 2015
My friend Marcia, talking about why she loves writers and books and the writing process so much, said, “Books change me.” And they do. Or they should, if they do their job well. I’m possibly the worst book reviewer there is. Really. Because I always take the book and make it all about me. All...
What a tangled mess
June 11, 2015
Carey Scott is a lovely, vivacious woman who responded graciously when I posted a cry for help in my agent’s Facebook group. I don’t know her well, but I was grateful for all of the encouragement and ideas she’d offered regarding marketing and growing my blog, so I jumped at the chance to get an...
Facing Stories with Kelsey Timmerman
May 16, 2015
In which I yell at Kelsey and he looks very afraid. Even if that’s not exactly what happened. Because a picture is worth a thousand words, and this one seems to tell its own story. But if you have lots of time, click “play” because we talked about story, and community, and writing the book...
Interview, review, and a giveaway
May 13, 2015
Courtney DeFeo is a friend of my agent, and that’s how we connected, but it seems we have lots in common. One of her creations is Alphabet Scripture Cards, which are pretty cool. Her bio describes her better than I could: Courtney DeFeo believes our kids can light up the world. As a former marketing...
And now? I'm tired.
May 5, 2015
After all the build-up, it’s here. Past here, if you want to be technical. Praying Upside Down is officially available everywhere (or nearly so). And has been since May 1. In fact, my girls went to Indianapolis this weekend and decided to swing by the Carmel, IN, Barnes and Noble store to see if they had it....
